Our Pedagogy
We adopt a family grouping approach across our nursery, where children have opportunities to learn and play with peers of different ages. Groupings are carefully considered and based on each child’s individual development and readiness, rather than age alone.
This approach reflects the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) principle that every child develops differently and should be supported through meaningful, responsive interactions.
To support this, our nursery is organised into three broad developmental groups aligned with key stages of learning:
- Babies
- Toddlers
- Pre-School
These groups provide a clear structure while allowing flexibility for children to move between them when appropriate, based on their developmental stage.
This approach ensures that:
- Children build secure relationships with educators who understand their individual needs
- Transitions are managed sensitively, supporting children’s confidence and wellbeing
- Learning experiences are tailored to each child’s stage of development within a safe and supportive environment
