Purpose of the Role
To support qualified staff in delivering a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment, contributing to children’s learning while developing your own knowledge and skills.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support Learning & Play
- Assist in delivering activities and experiences.
- Engage positively with children during play.
- Model good behaviour and support social development.
2. Care Routines
- Help with meals, toileting, hygiene, and sleep routines.
- Maintain cleanliness in the room and shared spaces.
3. Safeguarding Support
- Maintain vigilance and follow all safeguarding procedures.
- Report any concerns promptly.
4. Team Support
- Help set up and tidy learning areas.
- Follow instructions from practitioners and leaders.
- Contribute to a positive team environment.
Essential Requirements
- Genuine passion for working with young children.
- Reliable, caring, and committed to learning.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience in childcare (paid or voluntary).
- Interest in gaining a childcare qualification.
